Accidents, Miracles and Intervention

Sometimes life feels unfair, and a big let down, I guess the initial outcome of this week for me was a big let down. I had casually gone to the Dollartree store in McKinney, TX map.  Around noon, while pulling the door to enter the store, I had mistakenly pulled the door right over my foot, which obviously is made of hard steel, went right into my left toe and cut me down to the bone. Ouch! that’s all I could think of when I had first seen the cut. I never felt it at first, and thus I casually entered the store. I was there with Jay my 15-year old cousin and the first thing to come out of my mouth was ‘this is going to be real bad’  As I entered the store I walked around to the cashier and immediately asked for a first aid Kit, the cashier asked me if I wanted to buy it, I quickly replied ‘no’ and explained the situation. He quickly rushed to call the manager and by the time the manager had come there was an aile full of blood. She shrieked and quickly brought out the first aid kit. Luckily there was a retired nurse to the rescue and she told me to apply pressure on the open wound. I held my hand in position as I dialed my uncle so that he can rush me to ER.

My uncle appeared through the door 30mins later, and was amazed at the amount of blood that was there. My phone was dead, so unfortunately I couldnt live tweet it. I was taken to Allen Presbytarian ER and wow, what a long time it took for them to attend to me. They only started attending to me around 3.00 pm, I had been there for almost 2 hours. Can you imagine how much blood I was loosing? The MD came in around 3.05 pm stiched me up with 7 stiches and called it a day. I then had to wait another 30mins before the nurse came in and dressed it up. Not bad 4 hours and 30 mins in ER for a frikken toe laceration. Not BAD!

With that I conclude my ordeal of the week and hope to remeber this day forever. I am sure the scar will be there forever. All in all not a bad experience, could have been worse.  Check out http://twitpic.com/siddhartha for more pictures and updates or follow me on twitter to see what happens.
